  • Green and Black top dressing sand. Most important for the true championship roll.
  • Silica sand and crumb rubber infill.
  • Truline synthetic turf. This turf stands alone from the off the self or any name brand turf, hands down.
  • Compacted sand layer. For ultimate smooth surface and beautifully desired undulations.
  • Crushed base rock. To develop the strongest base layer in the business.
  • Optional "gopher wire"

I would like to go over the installation process a little more in detail because it is the absolutely the most important substance that will give you a truley quality putting green or grass installion for years to come.
The two layer "flex" base system I use is a system that has been proven to last for years. It is the same system used for brick pavers on driveways and sidewalks. Most soil conditions in San Francisco bay area consist of an expansive clay, meaning that with rain it will expand and in our dry summers, it will shrink.
By using a 2x6 "Trex" boarder and 3-4 inches of base rock and 1-2 inches of base sand, this "Flex Base" system will hold consistently together in unison during weather changes. Unlike a single layer system consisting of "gold fines", "DG" or "decomposed granine", a single layer base system will expand and contract like the clay soil. Moisture around cups or edges of the grass means you will have an ever changing sub-surface and will heave up through time making it impossible to have a consistent green for years to come. All plastic bender boards expand and contract due to changing tempuratures and will also heave up through time, no matter how much it is fastened or staked down.
